Contactless App Privacy

This privacy policy explains how the Contactless mobile application handles your data. We are committed to ensuring your personal contact information remains private and secure.

Contactless does not collect, monitor, or upload your contacts to any servers owned by Silicon Instructors. All information is managed locally or synced directly to your private Google Drive account.

Privacy Summary

We believe your contacts belong to you. The App stores all contact records and call logs locally on your device. When you enable backup, the App connects directly to Google using Google Sign-In and writes data to your own personal Google Sheets. Silicon Instructors does not have access to your contacts, notes, Google account credentials, or spreadsheets.

Data and Access Permissions

• Local Contacts & Notes Database: All contact names, numbers, emails, labels, and notes you add are stored in a secure local SQLite database on your device.
• Phone State & Call Status: The App requests Phone State permissions to detect incoming or outgoing calls so it can display the Caller ID overlay.
• Call Log Access: The App accesses incoming call numbers to match them with your contacts and display caller details on the overlay in real-time.
• System Overlay Permission: Required to display the caller identification dialog box over other running applications or the lock screen.
• Google Account Authentication: Uses Firebase Authentication and Google Sign-In to link your private Google account for Sheets backups. We never see or store your Google password.
• Anonymous Usage Diagnostics: Collects anonymous session metrics, app screen navigation paths, and duration of visits to analyze user engagement and diagnose application crashes.

Except for anonymous application diagnostics and usability metrics described below, we do not collect any personal device identifiers or track your behavior.

How Your Data is Used

• Display caller details, labels, and custom notes on-screen during active calls
• Allow you to search, view, edit, or delete contact records locally within the App
• Synchronize your contacts with your personal Google Sheets to prevent data loss
• Monitor application stability, resolve user experience bottlenecks, and optimize layout usability based on screen time analytics

Diagnostic usage analytics are transmitted securely and anonymously, and are never shared with advertisers or third parties.

Third-Party Services

To facilitate backups and monitor app stability, the App integrates directly with Google services and a secure analytics platform under anonymous profiles:

All database and spreadsheet data transfers occur directly between your device and Google's services. Diagnostic reports are transmitted anonymously.

Data Retention & Deletion

• Local SQLite Database: Stored on-device and deleted automatically if you uninstall the App.
• Google Sheets Backup: Retained in your Google Drive until you choose to delete the spreadsheet manually or revoke App access.

Your Data Rights

Since all data is entirely under your control, you can:

• View, export, or print your contacts directly from your Google Sheet
• Edit, delete, or wipe your contact records within the App interface
• Revoke Google account access to the App at any time via your Google Account settings
